Thanet Winter Shelter

The Thanet Winter Shelter opens its doors on Monday 23 November until March 31st 2021 in one multi-purpose location, giving rough sleepers access to a shelter that’s open 24 hours a day. The shelter which is now in its fifth year is supported by the Salvation Army, Thanet District Council and the local community.

Guests will be offered the exclusive use of a room to stay in and individual shower facilities, as well as hot meals providing a warm and welcoming environment . There is also the opportunity for our guests to take part in trauma informed in- house activities and creative pursuits with the aim of building self-esteem, life skills and to help empower our guests to take the first steps in ending their time living on the streets.

We welcome volunteers in all areas, from cooking, delivering creative workshops, supporting shelter staff, YOUR help is invaluable.
